To Do: Wine Wednesday with Bourbon Steak DC

Bourbon Steak DC is one of the best in the biz at social media for restaurants. There, I said it. In addition to their restaurant marketing guru Colleen Cooper, Chef David Varley, Sommelier Julian Mayor (a fellow Floridian in DC) and bartender Duane Sylvestre are some of my favorite people to follow on Twitter.

And, Wednesday, November 17th from 7-8pm, they are hosting their first ever virtual wine tweet up!

@BourbonSteakDC (their Twitter handle) has invited their followers to pick up three wines - Loosen Bros. Dr. L Riesling, Paraiso Syrah and Chappellet Mountain Cuvee - and join their team of sommeliers for a tasting via Twitter. In addition to Julian, three Four Seasons sommeliers with more than 25 years of combined experience: James Tidwell, Co-Founder and Current Head of the Texas Sommelier Association; Mark Sayre, one of Wine & Spirits magazine’s “7 Best New Sommeliers of 2010”; and Dana Farner, recognized as “one of the best around” by Bon Appétit magazine, will lead participants in a virtual guided tasting. Add the hashtag #FSWine and the sommeliers - and your fellow wine tasters - will respond to your questions or observations about the taste.


If you're in DC (and one of their lucky followers - or my readers), you can also join in person (RSVP on Facebook) and taste each of the wines for just $8 per glass. That's not half bad considering the swanky wine list Bourbon Steak has assembled.
