Scenes from the Farmers Market: June 12, 2010

I'm traveling a lot this week, so I didn't pick up too many things to eat. But, I did pick up a bag of organic potting soil and some vegetables, herbs and flowers for my windowboxes. Stay tuned for a planting post - and cross your fingers that everything lives!  In the mean time, enjoy these photos. There are so many amazing foods in season in the Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, DC region right now.
Apricots & Blueberries
Chesapeake Bay Crabs

Squash Blossoms & Cherries

LiLu, Googling "scapes" in my experience will get you a lot of good recipes! I've seen scapes pizza and scape pesto. Have been traveling so much I haven't yet tried to cook them myself!

Thanks Ali!
